NIKILÄSÄ is the creative project of Sydney artist, songwriter and producer Nikhil Murthy. A former teenage metal‑head who grew into a genre‑shapeshifting storyteller. His music pulls from everywhere at once: indie, electronica, punk, folk, neo‑soul, jazz, classical and the cross‑cultural sounds that shaped his world. Guided by a love of music, cinema, art, literature, fashion and photography, NIKILÄSÄ builds songs like films. Filled with emotive vocals, vivid imagery and a widescreen sense of drama. The result is a sound that’s bold, immersive and impossible to pin down. 

His debut single, A Hero’s Lament, arrives 31 July 2026. A whirlwind of pounding drums, punk‑metal guitars, R&B‑leaning vocals, choral harmonies & jazz‑inflected horns, the track reveals new layers with every listen. Beneath the explosive production sits a politically charged reflection on a world in decline, delivered with urgency, grit & a restless creative spirit. NIKILÄSÄ resists genre categorisation, instead blending styles into a singular artistic voice.
